Ctrl key doesnt work

My ctrl key doesnt work for ctrl + x, ctrl + c, ctrl + v

another problem is when starting word it says ctrl key is depressed do you want to start word in safe mode.

please help

What version of windows are you using.

It might be that you have sticky keys turned on.

for Win 7 go to control panel > ease of access center > change how your keyboard works

Make sure that "Turn on sticky keys" is unchecked
