  1. We have Microsoft Access 2010 as a database for our closed files and have just gone from No. 9999 to 10000 (from 4 numbers to 5 numbers) and now instead of continuing on with numbering after 9999, Access has begun the numbers beginning with 10000 at the TOP of our database, so whenever we enter a new number, we now have to go to the very BOTTOM to enter that new number, but when we get out of Access and then get back in it, that new number (and all of the next new numbers) will be located at the TOP of Access, instead of continuing on at the BOTTOM like it always has. Is there any way at all to make Access continue the numbering at the BOTTOM of our Access list like it always has without having to go through and add a "0" before all of our numbers to make the existing numbers have 5 numbers? Thank you for anyone who might have an answer!

  7. I have a user with a previous version of Excel that was password protected AND encrypted. Now another user who has the password is using Excel 2010 and can not open it. The error message says "Excel cannot open this file. Encryption type is not available." However, several others in her dept. can open it.
  8. I have windows 7 with outlook 2010 and I always backup my outlook files folder containing the Outlook data file. Is this all I need to restore my outlook if anything went wrong with my laptop. I have hundreds of emails in different folders that I have set up, hundreds of contacts. I have dozens of email rules, calendar appointments and tasks and quicksteps. Are these all stored in the outlook data file or do I need to back up other files as well. Should I be exporting the calendar and contacts separately or is it ok to just back up the data file. I just want to make sure that I am backing up all the right stuff.
  9. In Outlook 2010, Windows 7, I find that new email windows vanish before I can complete the email, and autocomplete addresses vanish before I can click on them. Similarly when hovering with mouse over the Outlook logo on my taskbar, the new email is there and will come up when right clicked and vanish instantly; left clicking on the icon keeps the email on top, especially if I maximize it, long enough to complete the message and send. Is this an Outlook instability or is there some selection I should make somewhere that says "Keep open email on top" or something like that? Thanks
  10. I am using PowerPoint 2010 and wanted to insert a video to within the PowerPoint file, but it makes the whole file 333 MB or (349,755,736 bytes). I need to burn the whole PowerPoint with the video onto a CD for distribution to my clients. So I am looking for an option whereby I could instead insert a link to the video, so that I could burn both to the same CD. This would require that whatever I inserted as a link to the video was directed to the location on the CD being burned. Right now, under the “Insert” “Video” menu’s I have only two choices: “Video from File” or “Video from Web”. Any suggestions, anyone?
  11. I have outlook set to include my signature with all new emails but when I right click a file and choose Send to Mail recipient, my signature is not included. anyone know how to make this work I have windows 7 64 bit with Outlook 2010 32 bit cheers
  12. We are using Outlook 2010 here at the office. And several people are getting the message that there inbox is out of space. And those people have over 3500 emails in there inbox. When I started here I made folders for everyone of my subjects so I can archive easely. But now I want to know how many emails I have. Q: How do I find out how many emails I have, including all the folders, using Outlook 2010?
  13. Hi. I have Outlook and Office 2010 and Windows 7. I was working very late tonight and while working, I lost all the colors on my Outlook interface. The only color I see, besides a sea of white, is the icons of the folders and envelopes and a pale (almost invisible) aqua highlight of where the cursor is in my Inbox and email list. I have looked everyplace possible to no avail. The Options color scheme does nothing. It was set to the silver scheme. When this happened, I was working on my Website on one monitor (with many tabs open), and had another browser window open (both were Firefox), and was listening to an ABC TV program on the 2nd monitor while working. I did not download any software to do so (and have done this before). I also had Publisher, Word and Excel open. I am running Microsoft's anti-virus program and I do not have any viruses or spyware. Why would the colors vanish? And when I was not even working in the program? It's like emailing in the Antartic! Appreciate your help.
  14. Employer changed e-mail account names after company name change. Approx 1 month later Outlook flags stopped working appropriately. all but one selection flag "today" stopped working. How do I fix this? Searched for Outlook settings affecting flags, customized ribbon by setting-up new group to appear in the ribbon (the options I want, display as greyed out and not available still), searched on-line for fixes for the problem (only found fixes for Outlook 2007 OR upgraded systems - 2007 to 2010). Have asked IT to re-install Outlook (not happened yet)..., THEN looked at the 'old' e-mail account with the company's old name and all the flag functions I used are functional there..., but NOT in the new e-mail account! Got any suggestions?

  18. Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 "download file" box will not go away after i accidentally closed outlook during a file download. Now, every time i open up outlook inbox this file download box opens and attempts to open a file, forcing internet explorer browser to open. I really want to resolve this issue, it isn't really annoying and pointless. The file it is attempting to open is no longer contained in any email or in the temporary folders that i am aware of . I have attempted emptying and cleaning temp files, system restore and some other things which have not worked. Could you please advise on how i could fix this? Thanks, bewildered frustrated, outlook user Chris
