shockersh
Take a look at your motherboard manual. Normally when your motherboard beeps it's using an error code that your motherboard will decipher (number of beeps). Perhaps you have your CPU unseated or something is plugged into the wrong socket. Or perhaps it could be something is actually wrong with your motherboard.... Check your manual, it should tell you what the beeps mean.
HelpJas
Hey Rufio, I had this issue once. Mine was since the Ram was loosely connected. When i pressed it and switched on the PC, it was booting fine. As shockersh told, you can identify the issue from the number of beeps. You can give a search for "beep codes" in the internet. You will get a chart which maps the type of beep and the cause of it. Good luck..
Rufio
Yeah I couldnt find the manual for my motherboard but I was able to look it up on the Gigabyte website. Turns out it's beeping because it was unable to detect the cpu fan, but I have it plugged in and it's working so I'm not sure why it keeps beeping. Steve
Hmm... perhaps the fan is not getting up to speed hence the error message / beep? HelpJas makes a good point about doing a search on the net for the beep code. Perhaps it's not the fan but another component?
Rufio
I looked around and then decided to try a new power supply. Installed the new power supply -presto- no more beeping. Computer booted up! Not sure what's going on, maybe the motherboard was freaking out because it had too little power or something.
Steve
Power Supplies are a nasty business. Each time I lose a hard drive or system component, it's always been from a bad power supply. NEVER buy a cheap power supply. It will cost you in the long run.
