What antivirus for windows xp?

I have windows xp and I'm don't want to spend any money on an antivirus is there a good free one

Even though people say it sucks, I just loooooove AVG!!!!! You can get AVG free, it's true AVG sometimes detects keygens/cracks as viruses, but if you believe that the file will not harm your computer you can easily add it as an exeption. About fast running... I't's not so nice, but it only slows down startup a bit, but you shouldn't care, cuz you're getting pro protection for free.

 

@Kumanina - NOT TRUE! Remember our slow school computers? They ran slowly because of NOD32's heaviness... Also, NOD gave me headaches all the time. Can't even clean a simple trijan horse ffs...

i used avast for a long time... had a couple bugs the last while.. got rid of it..

heard about the new avira..

Has it cleaned your box of a virus yet or are you pretty clean in general (from an AV standpoint).

I was using the free avira version for a while. It's pretty good, but Microsoft Security Essentials is the way to go if you ask me.
