Guest portaPoodle
Hey there I have a geeky question. I hear static whenever I talk on my home phone if I get too close to my computer, what could be causing this and how do I fix it?
goLfie
Sounds like it could be something related to a wireless card? I'd recommend checking to see if your modem/router makes your phone have the static sound also. (assuming you have wireless) Wireless G networks run at 2.4 ghz, and most house phones run at 2.4 ghz also so it conflicts. Thats my 2cents. Hope it helps! shockersh
How old is your wireless phone? Older phones had this issue but the newer ones run at a high frequency that fixes this type of thing normally. However... I still get feedback on my computer speakers when I get a txt message or phone call on my mobile. I don't notice it as much on my iphone but it still happens from time to time. goLfie
You can pickup a new phone for under $20 from nearly any electronics store. Costco was doing a deal on them for a while. Make sure to get one that is 5.4 ghz or higher. That should fix any problem you have with the phone static!

It will remove static and make it harder for ppl to listen in on your calls as the newer phones have that switching technology (guy at bestbuy told me about it) lol Let us know if that fixes it

Guest mike
Sometimes static on phone home can possibly happen. Because the normal pulsing of the handset's transmitter creates an audio component which can often be heard when inclose proximity to unshielded audio equipment just like speaker wiring. To eliminate this particular problem replace the speaker wires with using coaxial shielded cables using BT headsets.
