Hi!

I've been running an old home built PC for YEARS. I figure it's probably time to get out of the 90's in regards to PC technology....

I've been looking around for a few weeks now. Anyone have any advice in regards to DELL Vs. HP? Those seem to be the 2 i've narrowed my search down to.

Thanks!

Hey dude,

Yeah, you really can't go wrong with either however... I personally prefer the Quality of HP. DELL seems to have enjoyed living at the TOP for to long and their quality has gone in the toilet. Granted, you should be fine BUT, the last DELL notebook I had went through 2 hard drives and 1 LCD panel before it calmed down. My home HP box (the one I'm typing on now) has been solid since day 1 plus, the HP's seem to give you a lot more bells and whistles than the Dells.

Just my 2 cents.

Either way I don't think you can go wrong. The costs are dropping so much these days both offer good product at a great value. It's "almost" not worth building your own PC any longer.

What do you plan on doing with the machine? Gamer, Office, Home generic, Media?

BTW - my last PC purchase was an HP from Costco for $900. Needed a box that I could install Windows Server 2008 and the 24inch monitor they threw in was nice. I "really" didn't need the box but...... sometimes I just can't resist in Costco ;)
