Austin Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I downloaded the Classics app when it was free and I really like it. It's great for when you are laying in bed adn can't sleep and want to do some quick reading. Right now I'm halfway through reading Flatland but it includes many other classics too. The neat thing about this app is that it was the original bookshelf app that inspired the new iPad style, I wouldn't mind paying $500 for an iPad if it had a ton of great books for free to go along with it, though I still think it's easier to hold up a light little iPhone vs. a huge iPad. Here's some of the books on it: Flatland Alice in Wonderland Through The Looking Glass Robinson Crusoe The Jungle Book 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Paradise Lost Huckleberry Finn The Time Machine Hound of the Baskervilles Gulliver's Travels A Christmas Carol The Metamorphosis Pride and Prejudice Dracula Treasure Island The Count of Monte Cristo Frankenstein The Wonderful Wizard of OZ Iliad Odssey The Art of War Call of the Wild Quote
Steve Krause Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Yeah I grabbed that as well. All these books are able to be offered because they are not Public domain (copyright has ran out). Good reads however I'm a HUGE kindle fan so I'm not sure how iPad will do on that. Battery life on my kindle is ~2-3 weeks. The ONLY thing I don't like about my kindle is the no backlit on the display..... if you had that, it would be perfect. Quote
