excel spreadsheet temp file must open help!

I sorted an excel spreadsheet but I sorted it without including the last collumn in the sort. So now none of the phone numbers match the contact.

There are a dozen plus .tmp files of the excel spreadsheet saved in the folder, but I can't open it to see who's number goes with which contact. the file opens, and I can save it as text, but the information is so jumbled I still can't figure out which number goes with the contact.

Is there any way to open/save/something??? the temp file as an excel spreadsheet again so I can fix this???

or some other way???

If you saved it after the sort, there is little you can do to get it back into the correct sort....
