Steve Krause Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Funny, I must have looked at each picture for 5 minutes. Great collection. Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943 Something to be said about the simpler times. Quote
Guest trollcrusher Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Hey man, thanks for posting this link. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing these classic images from an era long gone by. Would love to have some of the advertisement signs as shown in picture #41 (i.e. "Grape Nehi", "Royal Crown", etc.). Sadly, I feel as though this was the "Golden Age" of the U.S.A. with regard to this country's pride, moral faith, economic drive (even though it was gearing up for possible inclusion in WWII prior to Pearl Harbor), and serving as the world's touchstone for the Democratic ideal. Some true "salt-of-the-earth" people depicted in those images. trollcrusher Quote
dw96 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 I love classical photography! There's just something about it that stands out from any other photo... Quote
