Steve Krause Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Question from Reader Hi MrGroove, I have read your article "Migrate Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 VM to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V" and it was worth reading and a very good info. I want to ask is there any possibility to migrate Live Windows 2003 or Vista etc in Windows 2008 hyper-v? Hope to hear from you soon. Hey there - I'm not sure I follow your question 100%. Are you asking if you can "live migrate" or "vmotion in VMWare lingo" a Server 2003 box or Vista box once you get all your boxes in Windows Server 2007 Hyper-V? If that's your question then yes. You will however need to upgrade to Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V as Live migration is only supported in R2. If that's not your question, let me know. Quote
