default email in windows 10

Hello to all, my first post so be gentle with me!!!!! How do I make Outlook my default email programme in windows 10,have tried all ways but am defeated, when I attempt to attach files to any of my email accounts have error message " no email program associated to perform the requested action"

Are you trying to set the Office Outlook as your default or the mail app or Outlook.com or Outlook Online...lol I know, but there are like four different versions of Outlook at the moment.
