Guest pa104
I have recently run across the folowing problem in Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1. I can't copy a file into the Windows directory without the System asking me for permission to copy a file into the Windows directory and the c:\ drive (root). The UAC is turned off and the machine was rebooted. Also, the user is a local administrator. Also, this is causing problems because we use DOS scripts and programs that need to be able to write to the windows directory. Sometimes, we can get around this by right clicking the program we want to run such as the DOS command window or a program and do RunAs adminstrator. In addition, certain DOS scripts need to be able to things which only an adminstrator can do. Why is this happening since the UAC is turned and user is an Adminstrator?
