Looking for an alternative to Authy

Recommended Posts

I've bene using AUTHY for ~10 years now and they just recently retired its desktop product. No more getting 2fa tokens on my Windows box.

What are the options? I really don't want to look at my mobile phone each time I'm logging into something on my PC. That's why I use the PC. Full keyboard and way better than my phone.

ANy good options?

Good question. Microsoft Authenticator is an option, but like Authy, it's only available on mobile.

Another option you can look at is 1Password. The Password manager has 2fa built into the client. So when you visit a site, it will enter the Username, PW and 2FA code:

Now, although this is handy, I rarely use this feature since I don't like having all my security eggs in a single basket. If for some reason there's a compromise with my Password Manager, I don't want all my 2fa tokens in the same system.

But.... it is an option.
