NTOSKRNL.EXE Memory Leak Eating up all Resources

Recommended Posts

Question from Reader:

Today I got an email from a groovyPost reader with the following:

I don't know if accept requests, but wont hurt to ask if you can find a REAL fix for this problem.

There are many reports all over the internet and it isn't just me. After about 4-5 hours of run running time, the computer goes to 99% memory usage, and is just about useless. Even the mouse is locked.

Task Manager traces it to an EXE file called NTOSKRNL.EXE A reboot will return to normal for another 4-5 hours. Gurus on the internet report a memory leak coming from this operation. There was a little help about shutting off some app stuff in Settings. I followed that and reduced the mm usage (when it goes wild) from 99 -69%. Not a proper fix.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello to all.

Steve advised that I join the forum, and he kindly posted my question up above.

However, I notice a typo that I am guilty of..... the correct name of teh offending file is NTOSKRNL.EXE

It is found in Sysytem32

Also. I am running W 10 64 bit Pro version 16 gigs of Ram with the original W 10 download plus updates. I did not get the November upgrade.

Thanks for allowing me to join and hope someone can offer a fix.

here's one of the many links taht reported this phenomenon.
