  1. Here's a link to help you fix the problem. Hopefully you wont have to do a clean install..Good luck http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/139576-startup-repair-infinite-loop-recovery.html
  2. Well if the service doesn't exist there's little we can do. At least you can use it. Cheers Bob PS: If Epsom Solutions are like Canons then you could download another model one and then use the choice of printer box to choose yours.See in my solutions box I am running two different printers. Just a thought
  3. Have you already done this-see extract from page. Section 2 is important to follow http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=3752454&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3752454&objectID=c02463264 This is an extract from the page relating to a windows 7 installation Method two: Download and install the software from the HP website HP Solution Center is part of the Full Feature software and driver package available for download on the HP website. Follow these steps to install the software. NOTE:HP suggests that you select the Recommended type of installation when prompted by the software installer. This ensures that HP Solution Center installs. If you choose a Custom type of installation, read the description of each software component carefully to avoid unintended loss of printer functionality. 1.Turn on the printer.2.Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer (if you already connected it). If the printer is connected to a network, leave it connected.3.Go to HP Drivers & Downloads . If prompted, type your printer model number, click Next , and then click Drivers .4.Make sure that your operating system is selected, and then click Next . 5.Scroll down the page, and then click Driver .6. Click Download , and then follow the on-screen instructions to save the software to your computer. 7.Open the folder where the software file saved (usually Downloads ), double-click the file, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  4. Below is an HP Site Link outlining how to install your printer. Try the instructions given and if you still have problems use the forum link which may help. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=46679&tmp_task=setupCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3752462
  5. Sounds to me as if you have a fake. There are a lot of them around and they sell cheap. The speeds you quote are ridiculously slow as Class 10 supports 10 MB/s as a minimum non-fragmented sequential write speed..I'd buy another card and if it had those speeds you quoted I'd return it.
  6. Why don't you save the image as a jpeg and send it as an attachment?
  7. Do you mean you reformatted the hard disk and reinstalled windows. If so it looks like you have lost the drivers and will have to re-install them. What to doRemove all devices with exclamation mark and any "Other devices" from Device Manager by highlighting them and pressing the delete key on the keyboard. Once they've all been removed reboot the computer and allow Windows to re-detect the devices. If after rebooting the computer the Device Manager remains the same Windows is not installing the devices because it lacks the proper driver support. You'll need to download the latest drivers for that device. The above is an extract from windows. 8. Try this first: 1.Take out the battery, 2.Remove main supply, 3.Hold power button down for 30 secs, 4.Put only power supply in, do not put battery in 5.Turn laptop on 6.Put the battery back in. If this doesn't work the try taking out the memory and refitting it. Make sure the power is off and the battery removed when you do this.
  9. I take it you have rebooted, unplugged the drive an all the simple things. Check in disk management to see if it's listed. If so make sure it has a drive letter. If not then give it one. I had this problem awhile ago. Windows 8 is a little quirky sometimes. If this doesn't work then come back on it.
  10. Open Device Manager Unknown devices will have a yellow question mark select the unknown device and right click on it to bring up the properties box-Click on the Details tab and select Device Instance ID from the drop down box. You will now see something like this PCIVEN_1234&DEV1234_7676&SUBSYS_0897........ The VEN and DEV numbers are the Vendor and Device IDs
  11. Here's a link to a good explanation and a free bit of software. I haven't tested the software so it's up to you to try it or not as the case may be. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/virtualbox-running-windows-on-a-mac-for-free-sort-of/
  12. This might help if you haven't already looked at it. It's really hard to find things on Canon sites. With the price of the items you would think you would get a better back up. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/page.action
  13. This link takes you to an explanation of how you can do this along with a link to some free software for doing the same.. Hope this helps you. http://www.howtogeek.com/98064/how-to-print-or-save-a-directory-listing-to-a-file/
  14. First click on Develop and then on the History in the left side panels Check out my blog for lots of stuff about Photoshop and a little about Lightroom athttp://taffbryn.blogspot.co.uk/
  15. There are several blocking software apps available . As for spying you are asking for someone to post how to make malware and I don't think anyone is gong to do that. Check out this site for a reasonable blocking app.http://www.netnanny.com/
  16. This is a shot of Kompozer- a free web editor and pretty good it is too. Here I am showing the fonts open. I just looked at the Intuit site and its one of those sites with its own builder . These are normally pretty limited and I am not joining to check it out. Not much more can be said, Good luck with your project.
  17. If you want a jpeg which is an image file then use a screen grabber to get what you want. A free one is PicPic. If you want the font in your web page then you have to set the font in your web editor. If its a rare one then its probably not in it.You can of course install it into the editor
  18. You need to remove Smile Desktop from the Startup folder (not Start menu) before the Control Panel will let you uninstall the program. Go to Start - All Programs - and scroll down to the Startup folder. Right click on the Smile Desktop icon listed under the Startup folder and select delete in the side menu bar. This is only deleting the icon in the Startup folder- not the actual program. Then go to Start - Control Panel and you can uninstall the program To make any picture stored on your computer (or a picture you are currently viewing) your desktop background, right-click the picture, and then click Set as Desktop Background.
  19. They are available but pretty expensive. An example of one that will do this is the HP Scanjet 8270 Scanner. I have placed a link below so you can check it out. Good luck. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=1118292&prodTypeId=15179&objectID=c00629596
  20. Hi Pluto99_999,Did you check this out as well. Seems more likely to be the cause than the other Various files weren’t being found because on 64-bit Windows the “Program Files” folder is reserved for 64-bit applications only. 32-bit programs install into a folder named “Program Files (x86)”. Our test scripts included hard-coded paths that were failing because our 32-bit applications weren’t in their usual location. If you come across a problem like this, you can easily fix it by removing explicit references to “C:Program Files” and using %ProgramFiles% instead (this clever environment variable should resolve to either “Program Files” or “Program Files (x86)” depending on whether the process calling it is 64-bit or 32-bit). If you can’t get at the source to change the paths, a quick and dirty workaround is to manually copy your 32-bit files into “Program Files”. Once I’d done this, our benchmarks ran without a hitch. 21. Hi Pluto99_999, Here's a link to a site page which might solve your problem. As you wrote the programme yourself I'm not sure if it will work but have a look anyhow. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/blogs/2009/08/06/when-32-bit-apps-dont-work-on-64-bit-windows/
  22. Before you try to defrag do a disc clean up. Then check to see how much free space is left on the hard disc. If its less than 10% then it will not defrag as defrag need some space to move files around. Also you can go into Control Panel and click on programmes uninstall and uninstall any programmes you have which you dont use. You should also disable any programme in startup that you don't need. This is a little bit more complicated and for this you have to go into system configuration so I'll leave that for the moment but if you are waiting a long time for your computer to start then repost and I'll run through how to do it. When your computer is defragging do not use any programmes. Just wait for it to finish. I say this because it is probably an old operating system such as Xp. Newer O/S don't seem to mind.
  23. Most of the programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows work on the 64-bit version of Windows. An exception to this are a lot of antivirus programs and device drivers. As you don't state what programme you are having a problem with it's impossible to answer your question. If you want an answer then please take the time to set out your problem with as much detail as possible. People trying to answer your question are not mind readers.
  24. I am using Skydrive. Their free 7GB is enough for me. If you are using windows 7 they also have an app which enable you to sync a folder on your computer to that on the Cloud. Bonus with using the Cloud is you always have a back up. You can then of course access your folder on any computer. If you just want to network at home then Homegroup would suffice. More information in the question if this is not what you are looking for.
