  1. Starting a new thread on this. Part 2 for the thread over at webmaster/most-important-rules-for-website-seo-t95860.html#p96968 You mention on #2 that you like All in one SEO Pack as an SEO plugin for wordpress however I'm wondering what you think about Platinum Seo Pack? I'm playing with Platinum on my test web box and it appears to have more features than the SEO pack. Thoughts?
  2. At home I have a MAC where I send iMessages to my wife on her iPhone and iPad. When I'm at work I'm on a Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC. Is there anyway for me to send imessages to Apple devices? is it possible or am I outta luck? Thanks
  3. @wilfulpride -- why don't you just buy a USB DVD Drive? They are like $30 on amazon. Here's a quick search - http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Writer-External-Optical-Drive/dp/B003M0NT1M that should do the trick. Just plug it in and boom - done. Plus you can use the portable drive on any PC that ya need to.
  4. I just installed the RTM update on my Microsoft Hyper-V Server at work and now I can't get 2 of my Guest Systems to start. I'm getting the following Error Message: Any ideas? Details on System: Windows Server 2008 Standard running nothing but Hyper-V Role 2 CPU's w/dual core and 16Gigs memory Thanks,
  5. Ok @simon here ya go. Tested it and it works well. It's called Documents by Readdle. Installed it on my iphone, sync'd it with my Dropbox account. Clicked on Search then tapped "contents". It then asked me if I was sure because it would need to index the files. Once I said yes it ran through the files and I was able to search them. Have fun.
  6. I have Dropbox and Sugarsync installed on my iPhone. Unfortunately they do well searching file names and folder names but neither look inside the file.... Hmm... I'll keep looking.
  7. Not a great way to do this unless you setup Outlook or another Mail client like Live Mail. http://www.groovypost.com/howto/add-outlook-com-live-microsoft-office-hotmail-connector/

    Cannot connect to the internet

Here's how your setup "should" work. The Cable Modem is what brings in Internet Service into the house. If you plug into that Cable Modem, boom -- you have internet. Now, plugin the Wireless Switch. The Wireless switch does nothing more than extend the signal from the Cable Modem to both the Wireless network and the physical switch (if you plug directly into the wireless switch with a network cable). Obviously you want to connect to the wireless signal so that's obvious. What should be happening then is when you connect to the wireless switch (via WIFI / Wireless) it should pass your connection to the Cable Modem which will then give you an IP address and other important information like DNS and a Gateway etc... What could be a problem your having is 1 - Wireless Switch is broken2 - Wireless Switch is misconfigured Now being that it was working and now it isn't.... that tells me you have a hardware issue, not a configuration issue so you need to get a tech onsite to swap out some hardware. However, if you want to troubleshoot. If it was me, I would login to your wireless switch and make sure you disable DHCP. This will prevent you from getting an IP address from the Wireless Switch vs. the Cable Modem. Now, reboot everything including your computer and try again. You should get an IP address now from the Cable Modem and be golden. Hope that helps...
  9. I'm an old-school windows guy but I'm playing with a MAC at work (and typing on it now). Is there a simple way to take a screenshot kinda like the "PrintScreen" button on Windows? Trying to avoid buying Snagit on this MAC. Thanks
  10. No way Microsoft will release it as is. I think this is there way to get people talking about it LOL @simon.
  11. Tell me about it. It blinds me.... After using for a few weeks however, I'm getting used to the bright white. But yes, they REALLY need to add some color to it and add a little contract!
  12. It is possible to change the color of the calendar color but yeah... that doesn't really help much when reading email.
  13. Yeah - just plug it in.

    Laptop suggestion

I personally prefer Lenovo. They are solid and very stable. A little expensive however not any higher than a nice Dell or HP. If you're looking for a low profile then go with a Samsung.
  18. Yup - If you don't delete it, it will never vanish.
  19. Hello -- I assume you are using Windows 7? Just Right Click the desktop and Click Personalize. From there choose another Background or Windows Theme.

    Flash for IPad2

Apple is smart. There are WAY WAY to many security exploits for Flash. That would add pandoras box to the iOS platform.
  22. What do you mean - it's Frozen? Can you login or not?
  23. Here is an entire article about how to delete your account: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/security/permanently-delete-your-facebook-profile-account/ Before you delete it, read the comments. There is a lot of good stuff in there. Delete all your friends, Photos and everything else. THEN delete your account.

    Windows 7 issues during startup

Hi @Dave - the first thing I would do is examine all your startup apps that are loading during startup. You could have a simple issue with a virus (well not simple but understandable) or you could have an app that is hanging up during the reboot process. Type in MSConfig after you reboot and then Click the Startup Tab. Go through the list there and disable all the crapware that doesn't need to be there. If you have a question about something in there, just drop a comment here below my answer and I can help ya. You should also make sure you have the latest AV installed. Read this: http://www.groovypost.com/howto/news/microsoft-security-essentials-2-0-the-only-windows-antivirus-you-need/ and install it. It's a free AV package from Microsoft that is very good. Hope this helps!
